I am Elder James A. Thompson Jr.  I was born to James Thompson Sr. and Evelyn Thompson in Eden, North Carolina. I attended John Motley Morehead High School located in Eden, North Carolina. I have been blessed to be married to LaTreace Thompson of Martinsville Virginia for 16 years. We reside in Eden, North Carolina where I was raised. God has blessed us with four children: Micheal Thompson, who currently resides in West Virginia, Amiya Thompson who is a college student at Rockingham Community College, Garret Kaleb Thompson and James Alfred Thompson (Tre) who both attend Tribe of Judah Christian School and reside in our home.

I am the founder/owner of BIGG DAWGG TRUCKN LLC located in Eden, North Carolina since 2020. I also became the owner of Exceptional Care Professional Services (ECPS) and operated this business from 2006 until 2012.  I became licensed in foster and adoptive care and worked with Adolescent Child Professional Services from 2009-2022.

I have been an active member of The Galilean House of Worship located in Martinsville, Virgina since 2009 where I currently hold a position in ministry as an ordained Elder of the Baptist faith since 2022. I have been under the leadership of Bishop Micheal Penn for 16 years where I became an ordained minister of the gospel in 2010. I later served as pastor at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart, Virginia.

I don't consider myself anyone special, just a man chosen by God for the last days for the glory of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The gift God has bestowed upon me is the ability to reach everyone to get on everyone’s level no matter their age, creed, color, background, and ethnicity. My job and desire are to save souls and to gather all people under unity and love in Jesus Name. God allowed me to display the love of him to others and show them the way to do the same.

 

My faith statement is the belief that there is one, and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, the maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth. I see Him as inexpressible and beautiful in holiness and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that Jesus died on the Cross for our sins and rose again; for that our sins are forgiven past, present, and future. With the confession out of your mouth and the belief in your heart that he did just that, then you are truly saved. “Romans 10: (verse here?) “Jesus is Lord”!

One of favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not to thine own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy path”. I also love Psalms 23.

When I became an Elder in January 2022, I came out with a saying that I hold near and dear to my heart to this day, some may understand; some may not and that’s alright, because with this saying my intentions are always good and this saying will always remain faithful and true.
